Lazing around in Panama

We left the hussle of Panama City yesterday, really congested , so much so it took us an hour to escape the clutches of the metropolis and head out to the highway. Another really hot day as we headed just north of Santiago to a nice "Eco Hotel" We stopped for lunch but the restaurant wasn't open so we had water instead, better for the diet!! The Hotel here has a pool so once again we are spoiling ourselves a bit. Today Sara and Dan from www.worldwideride.ca joined us, after a morning exploring the jungle?? around the hotel we spent the afternoon drinking beer and swappng stories, perfect really!
One bit of high drama was when a woman started shouting at us, "rapido rapido" turned out her husband was in the pool and was obviously in difficulty thrashing around, I thought it was a kid drowning but it was him, Fiona & Gianni were in the pool in a flash and helped him to the side  and to safety before I had to get wet!! So a bit of excitement for the afternoon!!
Not a bad place to spend a couple of days

Dan & Sara's bikes join ours!

  1. Hola,
Congratulations on locating another pool, with beer! The strange bird is a Neotropic Cormorant or Olivaceous Cormorant (Phalacrocorax brasilianus) and there are sub-species as well! Please do not insinuate that the following picture of your brave wife is anything to do with being a member of the sub-species! Very pleased that the rescuers weren't dragged down by the panic of the drowning man. Another pisco sour, or has that dried up now? La buena salud, Bill.

    1. Thanks Bill, I suspect the pools may dry up now, thanks for the info. No Pisco Sours on offer now, just beer & whisky

  2. Cheers for the mention earlier on - glad you got your supplies back ok. It's good to see the school swimming lessons in your pj's rescuing bricks came in handy.
Countryside looks great, but not too sure about the beasties!
