Antigua

We have been enjoying a couple of days rest here in the pretty Colonial town of Antigua, time to catch up on the admin, organise insurance for Mexico and do some forward planning, it isn't all riding bikes you know!
Antigua has been destroyed twice by earthquakes, one caused a flood after the lake on top of the volcano that overlooks the town crashed down on the town below, there is evidence of work in progress going on to try to restore some of the old buildings. Its tourist city here , and the town is well geared up to getting the last Quetzal (the local currency named after a native bird...the feathered kind!) from the tourists pocket, huge range of cafe's and resturants so eating well isn't a problem, the local supermarket has Johnny Walker on offer at £11 a bottle so all is good really. Some maintenance on the bikes yesterday, mainly a checkover and refill the Scottoilers. Plan is to head further North tomorrow and try to cross into Mexico on Friday which hopefully will be our last border crossing for at least a month.
Ah the hard life on the road!

Full Moon!

 Barking at the Moon
Our wee hotel (nice place with nice staff)

Volcano overlooking the town, nice ....until it goes off!
 Typical Colonial buildings
 Light restoration needed!!
 Street scene
 Under restoration
 Fresh fruit at the Market
100 stalls all basically selling the same thing
Spotted today a 1956 Eric fae Arbroath Special.... sorry a 56 Buick special
