Fiona mapped out a great route using some very small back roads around West Lothian and the Borders, due to the Norton being over 40 years old its electrics can't cope with our heated gear so bloody cold was the order of the day! Because of the Stormy weather over the last few weeks many of the roads were flooded and had water running across them so it really was a mini adventure albeit a cold one! Next week weather permitting we have the Lothians and Borders Classic club "Frostbite" run so today was a good practise! I hope 2014 brings you all happiness and good health! Lang may yer lum reek!
Yes damned cold but at least a glimmer of sun at this bit! Happy New Year! |
And a very merry Xmas to you two intrepid adventurers from a typically Scottish weather day here in Brooklyn. Can't believe that after your huge adventure you're complainin' aboot a wee drappy cald. Actually I haven't been out on a powered two wheeler for weeks now, I'm beginning to enjoy the armchair discomforts of other folks too much!
ReplyDeleteAs always lots of bikes around here even in the cold weather and lots of places with bikes in them. As you will know the bike scene is very cool in this part of NYC with lots of old stuff on show in shops cafes etc. The younger guys are always interested to know about my bikes etc. Possibly maybe eyeing me up as a permanent exhibit in some of their shops! (after stuffing and mounting of course)
Keep up the good work and a Guid new Year fan it coms.
Eric
Guid tae hear fae ye Eric, hope NYC is being guid tae ye a' . One thing a year on the road taught us was how tae moan. Missing life on the road ! Hopefully catch up soon. All the best for 2014

All the best to you both for 2014, think you should just become saddle bums and just keep on ridding, sounds like a good life to me. PS Had a beer or two so don't listen to my ramblings. Budge
ReplyDeleteI'd do that in a minute Budge believe me. Have a great 2014 mate

as the Irish might say, "May those who love us, love us. and for those who cannot love us, let God turn their hearts. And for those who's hearts He cannot turn, may He turn their ankles, so we may know them by their limping"
ReplyDeleteCheers and Happy New Year Gino and Fiona!
