The weather forecast was mixed for Sunday, the Nortons and Guzzi's were all polished ready to go but it was threatening rain and the meeting was in Fife, known for it's rainfall, so I wimped out and took the R100 BMW, still a classic but unlike my shiny bikes it doesn't need mollycoddled after a soaking. I suppose that's the way of things, when you were younger, if you were lucky you had one bike, a Mars Bar bike (The ads for the chocolate Mars bar always stated that this delightful treat was for work, rest and play) but nowadays if you are lucky people have more than one bike. We often look back too our younger days when the bikes never needed serviced, there wasn't constant roadworks in every town and city and main roads and Doctors receptionists didn't have to pass the advanced Gestapo exam before being given a job in the caring profession. I suppose that's why we cling to old bikes, the memories of happy things and that's why everybody should have a classic, learn to fix it and enjoy it and come to a classic or Vintage event, I'll see you there!

A braw turnout and a braw day |
Lots of nice bikes and not too bad a day weather-wise, always nice to see the old airheads out on the road.
