May so it must be the Guzzi Rally

The hotly anticipated Moto Guzzi Rally took place over the May day weekend, always a great weekend but for several reasons we left Saturday to enjoy a sunny but cold ride down to Linlithgow rugby club. We were pleasantly surprised by a larger than normal turnout, seems motorcyclists like good weather as well and there was a rush of bookings in the last week. As always it was meeting old friends and making some new ones. The band as always were outstanding on Saturday night and had the dancers on the floor from the second song. Harry who used to live round the corner from us in Edinburgh deservedly won the long distance award but that's not surprising as he retired to the deep south, good effort Harry! Our friends from Belgium, Guy and Anja appeared but in a motorhome, having been here for a few years on a bike I think they were getting fed up with the weather and who can blame them.

Saturday night was colder than expected which was a good omen which means we will take the winter sleeping bags to the Norton weekend next weekend, matter of fact everybody mentioned being caught out with the cold in the morning, we had a cold run home, just because its sunny don't think its warm, I took my summer riding gear and that was also a mistake. No complaints though, a great weekend and great organisation.
