Weather improvement lifts depression

Firstly apologies for being a bit lazy and not updating the blog for so long, today I got a telling off for that! The weather has been crap to put it bluntly, cold, wet and plenty snow with no sign of it easing until this week (although maybe more snow next week). The prolonged Winter plays havoc with everything, peoples ability to get to work easily , plans for the weekends and for me it has put my plans for a new workshop back at least a month. Although we have camped in the snow and ice and traveled across Europe in winter weather its ok for a specific length of time, when it starts to drag out it ceases to be fun and depression kicks in, you begin to wonder if it'll ever heat up again. Today a second day of sunshine meant I could get the bike out at long last, roads were dry and therefore lessened the corrosion factor from the millions of tons of salt and grit that's been poured onto our roads, potholes though are ridiculous and are in many cases becoming a hazard and therefore dangerous.
Enough of the moaning though, it was wonderful to ride on dry roads and feel the sun (well ok see the sun and feel the heated jacket) a run up to St Fillans and Lochearnhead followed by a bacon buttie and a cuppa at Tullybannocher tearoom at Comrie, it was there I bumped into John and Alan, fellow motorcyclists out also enjoying the day, they joined me and although we haven't met in person before it transpired Alan was a blog reader and asked me what I was playing at being lazy with the updates so here you are Alan, hope the rest of your day was good.
That's one of the great things about being a motorcyclist, meeting like minded enthusiasts and swapping stories, it is a wonderful group to be part off. A reminder that the mighty Tay Valley NOC will be having their Huntygowks meeting on SundayApril 1st so try and get along whether on a Norton or not. We are off on a wee jaunt to Spain so we'll miss it (and hopefully we'll miss the snow as well!) updates to the blog when I can! Pics to show the sun does shine here occasionally!

Reminds me of Lago di Como....apart from the weather, people and architecture....

Ducks enjoying the view and the sun

  1. That's better, glad to see an update at long last!
We had a great run up to Killin, along the South side of Loch Tay, Aberfeldy, Dunkeld and Meikleour before going back to Monifeith. A great day out, good to meet you. Cheers, Alan

    1. The Guzzi, BMW's and sidecar have all been out this year Jake, just not in the last few weeks. Something more important than Huntygowks, must be serious

  4. Reporting from base camp as April 1st - 4th have been Arctic and if any body passed going to the 'Huntygowks', there weren't many Nortons attending unless of the 4-wheeled variety! ;) Snow all day today, so if you are reading this in sunny Spain, enjoy it, because its s**** and -3°C here. Trust that you are both well. Regards, Myreside.
