Perthshire

One of these weekends when it was still cold but the scenery was stunning, a wee run through Dunning Glen on Saturday. A scene that will soon be ruined by a huge Wind Turbine which is being built by the "local businessman" much to the dismay of the locals. Anyway a nice breakfast at Muchart and some drone practice despite the high winds. Sunday over Glen Quaich, quiet for now and some of the descent into Kenmore had been resurfaced but only some, still a couple of potholes you could lose a small town in. A wonderful day, still not warm but just like the flies which have started appearing so have the bikes so it must be getting there.

An accident on the Aberfeldy to Kenmore road just after a bend saw an Ambulance and two traffic cars in attendance, I spoke to one of the policemen telling him they needed to get someone or a sign before the bend because it was dangerous (we were only doing 50mph and had to brake heavily) He said something like " We are busy dealing with this incident sir" so I went on my way hoping nobody else joined the incident unintentionally.

  1. Thanks for the tootle on your return flybye on Sunday, I heard you going as well!! Shortly after I was about to leave on the 450, when my neighbours sheep decided to go for a canter along the A85! Having terrorised us and decimated the wood in the past 3 weeks, 5 of the white maggots decided that diving between cars and strip grazing the verge was in order. Nothing for it, but to spend the next hour faffing about herding them off the A85 before their owner arrived, after 20 minutes and then getting them off the Tibber road, into their field. Potentially another week afore they go! Nice run to Comrie, Braco, Dunblane, Sheriffmuir, back to Blackford, Gleneagles, Auchterarder then over the top on the old road from the bottom of the Cairnie Braes. The Norse chapter were in at 'Bannocher and no cakes left, so that was the end of that little wheeze. Good health, Myreside.
