Perthshire

 One of these weekends when it was still cold but the scenery was stunning, a wee run through Dunning Glen on Saturday. A scene that will soon be ruined by a huge Wind Turbine which is being built by the "local businessman" much to the dismay of the locals. Anyway a nice breakfast at Muchart and some drone practice despite the high winds. Sunday over Glen Quaich, quiet for now and some of the descent into Kenmore had been resurfaced but only some, still a couple of potholes you could lose a small town in. A wonderful day, still not warm but just like the flies which have started appearing so have the bikes so it must be getting there.

An accident on the Aberfeldy to Kenmore road just after a bend saw an Ambulance and two traffic cars in attendance, I spoke to one of the policemen telling him they needed to get someone or a sign before the bend because it was dangerous (we were only doing 50mph and had to brake heavily) He said something like " We are busy dealing with this incident sir" so I went on my way hoping nobody else joined the incident unintentionally.

And so it goes on...

The weather continues, some bright spells then just to make sure you we aren't out of the woods yet the rain and colder temperatures return. Next week will be April, last year we went to Morocco where it was warm, this year we will be in Scotland moaning about the weather. Easter (because it changes every year) has always been a mixed bag, Rain, Sun and even snow sometimes, funny that your memory tricks you thinking at was always sunny when you were younger, a bit like old bikes, always thinking that you did 1000's of miles without so much as a service and in total reliability.

I'm hoping I can get the Nortons and Guzzis out very soon, the BMW's have done the job but I can't wait to get out on something different. The Velo is still on the bench whist I wait for the trigger unit for the ignition arriving, not sure if it's the post or the vendor to blame but meanwhile I am reluctant to move it off the bench as I fear it will be forgotten about again. When you have a few bikes, it's easy to park the problematic ones rather than just getting on with making them problem free, first world problems I guess.

So we are looking forward to the Norton (Huntygowks) meeting at Tullybannocher on the 7th of April and the first Wee Smokey in Arbroath on the 14th  of April so hopefully that will get the classic year started on a high, see you on the road, somewhere!

Been a while

 I thought I would do a little update, Firstly  the weather gives us glimpses of nice days, but only that. It has been wet and windy and the cooncil keep making sure the gritter drivers get their overtime despite no ice or snow. We have been out but only doing the usual routes so nothing overly exiting. The weather was horrible at the weekend so were out on four wheels as quite frankly we are both fed up cleaning the bikes for longer than the time we are out enjoying the roads.

Secondly, Winter maintenance has been going well with almost all of the steeds ready for a glimpse of warmth or maybe even dry roads. So well I dragged the dreaded Velocette out to get it ready, christ, what a bugger of a bike that is, if you type "start a Velocette" into youtube and you will see why. The owners tell you that its a real "riders" bike but the truth is they are all masochists or indeed knee specialists touting for business. They are very nice when they go but it's the getting them going thats the problem, Last Friday Budge came round and confirmed I wasn't going daft with regards to setting the timing, today Myreside Bill came round and also confirmed it should go. The quest for the running Velocette continues....it will be Summer soon.

Some photos over the last 3 weeks to keep you amused;

Two nice A10 outfits at Tully the other week
Owned by two brothers
